Wednesday's Forecast
A fizzled-out front and a weak area of low pressure in the upper levels of the atmosphere will conspire to keep some moisture in the area today. This will lead to some scattered showers and thunderstorms in the mountains today, while activity in the Upstate should be more isolated in nature. Otherwise, expect a mix of clouds and sun. Any showers or storms that may be around this evening should weaken with the loss of daytime heating.
This weak low heads to our northeast tomorrow, and high pressure builds in as we head into the weekend. This will set us up with a summer-like weather pattern: mostly dry...although an isolated late-day storm or two could develop in the mountains...and hot. Prepare for a few 90-degree readings in the Upstate, with highs well into the 80s in the mountains.
